Interest Groups

Our branches have had a wide range of interest groups in the past. As we recover from the Covid experience and organize our new merged branch, this is a list of our previous groups. If you are interested in visiting or joining a section, connect with the group contact. For forming an interest group contact a board member. Add a missing group? Contact Claire Noonan. Most groups welcome new members, but always check first with the contact person listed below or with the hostess listed in the Calendar.

Tech Trek for Girls

Tech Trek is a project for seventh grade girls to foster an interest in science and math professions and expose girls to college.  Our branch Teach Trek Committee solicits applicants from the local middle schools.  Students with aptitude and interest in science and mathematics are interviewed and selected to attend a residential or virtual AAUW-CA Tech Trek  for a week in July. Girls are divided into teams, participate in science and math core classes and projects taught by women with careers or backgrounds in math and science. To join the committee, call Vicki Reeder 941-8135.
