Welcome to AAUW Silicon Valley, CA

We welcome you to the AAUW Silicon Valley website. AAUW has been in this area for close to 100 years. Our branch began in 2023 with the merger of  the Palo Alto Branch (est. 1930) and the Los Altos-Mountain View branch (est. 1953). We look forward to continuing the projects and activities of both branches and creating new projects and activities that will work for equity for women in the 21st century in support of AAUW’s mission of  Advancing gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.


UPCOMING EVENT“AAUW Priorities in Light of the Election Results” Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 4 PM, PST, The AAUW Silicon Valley Branch will host a Zoom meeting featuring Meghan Kissell, Senior Director of Policy and Member Advocacy at the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Meghan will speak about post-election priorities for AAUW particularly as relates to social justice issues, including reproductive rights, childcare, secure food and housing, voting rights, and more.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday December 4, 2024 4:00-5:00pm Pacific. Register HERE.


As the November election is quickly approaching, here are some resources. AAUW is a non-partisan organization.

1) First –  a list of positions that AAUW California has taken on some of the propositions on our state-wide November ballot. AAUW takes positions based on relevance to AAUW’s Public Policy program.

3) For a comprehensive list of the close to 50 forums presented by the 5 Santa Clara County chapters of the League of Women Voters, visit the Santa Clara County LWV Website. Most were recorded and are now available for viewing.
