Welcome to AAUW Silicon Valley, CA

We welcome you to the AAUW Silicon Valley website. AAUW has been in this area for close to 100 years. Our branch began in 2023 with the merger of  the Palo Alto Branch (est. 1930) and the Los Altos-Mountain View branch (est. 1953). We look forward to continuing the projects and activities of both branches and creating new projects and activities that will work for equity for women in the 21st century in support of AAUW’s mission of  Advancing gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.

Our May 2025 event was focused on AAUW Tech Trek summer camps. We gathered the middle-school girls being sponsored by our branch to attend a Tech Trek camp (in-person or virtual) and engaged them in a STEM-related activity. They attend five schools, so this was a chance to meet one another. Here’s the smiling group, getting ready to create carmine red dye from cochineal insects. The activity was led by branch member, chemist Dr. Natalie McClure.

Check out our portfolio of events from the past year; our sidebar calendar shows various events of interest, including small “interest groups” which meet in member homes.

Finally, here are some events from our community partners:
